Jarrod Hudson Vice Chairman

Jarrod never worked in a union position until he was hired out with the CN/IC in 2000. Although having never worked in a union environment, he quickly realized the importance and benefits of working under a contract.

Jarrod quickly decided to get involved with his local and held a number of positions in local 453 Effingham/Decatur (Local Chairman, Vice Local Chairman, trustee). Then after

Legislative Representative retired in 2014 Jarrod was elected to this position, one that he sought after seeing that working to improve the safety of the working conditions is an ongoing issue. He was re-elected, by his peers, to Legislative Representative in 2015 & 2019, and at the 2020 Smart TD reorganization meeting in 2020 was elected to the position of Vice Chairman, Illinois Legislative Board Smart TD.

Jarrod says that serving as LR and Vice Chairman have been the most rewarding jobs that he has done during his railroad career and loves serving and helping his union brothers and sisters. He hopes to continue helping and mentoring through the remainder of his railroad career.

Jarrod loves camping, hunting, and golfing. He resides in Mattoon with his wife Michelle and has 4 daughters, Ashley, Alyssa, Kylie, Katelyn, and grandson Remington.
